Work hard, play hard aka che-che, bro….

Standard

This is us working ´hard.´ So apparently last time we were outside of the library everyone saw us, because on Friday they said:  ´yeah we saw you sitting outside.´ We have photos too, but R has it.

Our employers are super nice. I just cannot praise them enough. We have been very lucky that we found this job before coming to NZ. Not only that, but also our employers are super nice. We worked for 2 days and got paid on Friday…wohooo.. We were all happy with our wages and we have so many benefits:

  • We have to pay only 20 NZD for rent per week. At the moment we stay here for free (1.5 weeks)
  • Free laundry
  • Minimum tax rate
  • We can use their van to drive around even though everything is in walking distance
  • Close to the library, bank, store, post office, bars, restaurants etc.
  • All four of us got a job in the same place
  • We have nice living situation
  • The employers said they will show us around
  • Work is not hard (yet!) and it is actually interesting
  • Cool co-workers

On Friday evening, our boss and one of the co workers Cary (he introduced himself Cary like Carry Me Home) came to our kitchen patio to chill with us. They brought a box of beer with them. We just sat there, talked and drank beer.

We took the van out for the first time. Carey was driving to the pub and L drove back.

Around 5pm we went to the pub with our boss to see if we can get a job in a local pub/hotel for a week. It was a strange and fun night to say the least. Our boss introduced us to the new boss, then they offered us drinks and more drinks and more drinks and food and more drinks. Oh, and we got the job for next week. It was a strange night because we drank a lot and it was all for free. We hadn´t even finished our drink when they brought new ones.

Girls were joking that it was their first job interview where they didn´t have to talk at all and got the job. 😀 They didn´t have to talk because I am always pushed to the front and do most of the talking 😀  I don´t mind doing all the talking. Actually, we all have our own tasks in this group: Maarja – cook/yoga guru; L – driver/map reader; R – photographer/cleaner; me – talker/manager 😀

P.S. che-che, bro is cheers down here 😀
